Scott Grossman

Scott R. Grossman is Vice President of Corporate Development at Turning Point Brands, Inc. joining in May 2021. TPB is a leading manufacturer, marketer and distributor of branded consumer products focused on the active ingredients space led by its iconic Zig-Zag rolling paper brand. TPB is one of the first U.S. public companies (NYSE: TPB) to actively deploy capital throughout the cannabinoid value chain in North America. As TPB’s head of Corporate Development, Scott is responsible for leading efforts across M&A, strategy, and large commercial partnerships to strengthen its existing portfolio while pursuing additional growth engines. Scott oversees TPB’s investments and exclusive partnerships—including Old Pal, Docklight, Dosist, Wild Hemp, Recreation Marketing, and PetalFast—and leads TPB’s expansion into cannabis-focused distribution channels.

Prior to TPB, Scott spent over two decades as an active investor throughout the private equity and hedge fund industries. He has focused on deep fundamental, value-oriented investing throughout the capital structure of both public and private companies taking an active approach with management teams to help drive value-enhancing change. Scott was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Magnetar Capital joining near its inception helping to build and lead its Event Driven, Fundamental Credit, and Private Equity businesses over a decade with the firm. Scott then launched Vindico Capital, a concentrated activist investor focused on public company transformations primarily in consumer and business service industries. Prior to Magnetar and Vindico, Scott was an associate at Soros Fund Management in its private equity business, and an analyst at Merrill Lynch in its Financials Sponsors Group.

Scott received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Columbia University where he graduated magna cum laude majoring in Economics. In 2018, Scott was recognized by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) as one of the “Next Generation’s Top Corporate Directors.”
